How can I request special accommodations for the IELTS exam?
Candidates who require special assistance can apply for accommodations by selecting the “special arrangements” option (applicable only for paper-based tests). Choose your specific requirement, add a short explanation, and upload relevant medical proof. IELTS team will review your request and get back to you within two working days.
After completing my registration, how can I check the details of my test?
You can visit your candidate portal at IELTS official partner's website. The user ID will be provided in the registration email, and a password can be generated by clicking on Forget Password. You will receive a link on your registered email to create a password. Once set, you can access your test schedule, results, and a scorecard (eTRF).
When can I expect to receive my Speaking test schedule?
- For IELTS on Computer, the Speaking test takes place on the same day as the Listening, Reading, and Writing sections, and the time slot is shared two days before the test.
- For IELTS on Paper, you can choose your preferred Speaking time while booking. If you don’t select a slot, one will be assigned to you two days before the Listening, Reading, and Writing test. If you register within seven days of the test date, your Speaking schedule will be provided up to one day in advance.

- Visit the official IELTS website
- Click on “Register for IELTS”
- Select your preferred test format (Computer or Paper), along with the city and date (you can view real-time seat availability)
- Fill out the application form
- Make the payment using a valid Visa or Mastercard credit/debit card
- Get confirmation on-screen and via email
Important: Send a photocopy of your passport (first and last pages, plus any observation pages) to the Head Office as directed, and bring your original passport on the test day.
2. Register in person (Official branch or Input Node)
Visit any Official IELTS branch, head office, or nearby Input Node
- Method 1 (assisted online):
Use the office computer to complete your registration and pay the IELTS fee by card
Provide a photocopy of your passport along with signed Terms & Conditions
Receive instant confirmation of your booking - Method 2 (paper-based):
Fill in the application form available at the center
Sign the Terms & Conditions
Attach a photocopy of your passport (first and last pages, plus any observation pages if applicable)
Make the payment using: A valid credit/debit/ATM card, or
- Request the staff to enter your details into the online system and provide an acknowledgement
Note: If you choose to pay via Demand Draft, your seat will be confirmed only after the draft is successfully processed.
3. Register by courier (DD/ICICI/HDFC deposit slip)
- Download or collect the application form from an IELTS Official branch or Input Node
- Complete and sign the form along with the Terms & Conditions
- Attach a photocopy of your passport (first and last pages, including any observation pages if applicable)
- Include either a Demand Draft (as specified) or the original customer copy of the ICICI/HDFC deposit slip
Your application will be processed once the documents and payment are received, and seat allocation will be based on availability for your selected date and city.

IELTS on Paper/ IELTS on Computer
Transfer/Rescheduling of IELTS Test Online:
- You can change your IELTS test date only if your current test is at least 9 days away from the date you request the transfer.
- Transfer requests must include supporting documents and will be processed only after approval.
Cancellation of IELTS Test Online:
- You may request to cancel your IELTS test only if it is scheduled at least 9 days from the date of your cancellation application.
- Cancellation requests must include supporting documents and will be processed only after approval. Once approved, the refund will be issued within 7–10 business days, minus any administrative fees.
IELTS on Paper for UKVI/ IELTS on Computer for UKVI/ IELTS for Life Skills

Online Transfer/Rescheduling for IELTS (OSR & OSR-UKVI)
Candidates can request a test date change for One Skill Retake (OSR) and OSR-UKVI tests through the Candidate Login portal. Key points:
Each OSR booking is eligible for only one transfer request.
Requests to postpone or move the test earlier must be submitted at least 4 days before the original test date. A Test Date Transfer Fee of 25% of the test fee will apply.
Requests made less than 4 days before the test will result in test cancellation without a refund.
New test dates are allocated based on availability and at the Centre’s sole discretion.
Online Cancellation for IELTS
Candidates can apply for cancellation and a refund via the Candidate Login portal.
If the request is submitted at least 4 days before the test date, 25% of the test fee will be deducted as a processing charge, and the remaining amount (including taxes) will be refunded within 7–10 working days.
